Heute stand auf dem Plan, was letztes Jahr missglückte: Nitama, die Bahnhofsvorsteherin zu besuchen. Außerdem hatte ich tags zuvor bei Facebook gesehen, dass es in Osaka ein Gudetama Café gibt. Da ich absoluter Fan des Comic-Eis von den Machern von Hello Kitty bin, musste das unbedingt mit auf den Tagesplan. Dieser bestand nun aus vielen verschiedenen Zugfahrten mit zig mal umsteigen. Doch jeder Weg beginnt mit dem ersten Schritt und diesen taten wir in Shin-Imamiya. Vom Hotel aus ging es nach Tennoji, wo wir in den Zug nach Wakayama umstiegen. Dort schlossen wir unsere Rucksäcke in ein Schließfach ein, denn nun kam der angenehme Teil des Tages. Die Fahrt nach Kishi, dem Zuhause von Nitama, ist immer sehr entspannend und idyllisch (blendet man die Chinesen aus – da sind sie wieder!)
Alleine die Züge sind die Reise wert: allesamt sind sehr luxuriös und besonders edel eingerichtet. Der Tama Densha, der Katzenzug, beherbergt allerlei Dekoration im Katzenstil. Jedes noch so kleine Detail ist mit dem Rest des Zuges abgestimmt und verleiht dem Zug eher das Aussehen eines kleinen fahrenden Hotels. Ähnlich ist es im Ichigo Densha, dem Erdbeerzug. Wir fuhren heute mit dem Umeboshi Zug. Auch dieser war mit noblen Holzpanelen verkleidet und liebevoll dekoriert. Die Fahrt geht durch viele kleine verträumte Dörfchen, Bergketten im Hintergrund, Reisfelder erstrecken sich im Vordergrund und Orangenplantagen reihen sich an manches Wohnhaus. Nitama selbst war, wie im Dienstplan abzulesen war, im Dienst. Zwar nicht in Arbeitsuniform, sondern eher leger im Pelz, lag sie in ihrem verglasten Raum und zeigte, im Gegensatz zum restlichen Bahnhofspersonal, eher weniger Arbeitselan. Das machte jedoch gar nichts, denn allein ihre Anwesenheit war die Reise wert, denn endlich sahen wir die berühmteste Mieze Japans live und in Natura.
Als ein älterer Mann, der Bahnhofsaufseher von uns ein Bild machte und uns die versteckten Dekokatzen zeigte, nutze ich die Gelegenheit und überreichte ihm eine Packung Katzenleckerlies aus Deutschland für Nitama und einen Bilderrahmen, in welchem der QR-Code für die Facebook Seite zu sehen war, die ich für Nitama angelegt hatte. Er setzte die Brille auf und las laut staunend den Text der Seite. Dann war es so aufgeregt, dankbar und überrascht, dass er uns voller Elan und energisch winkend ins Café führte. Er zückte die Geldbörse und deutete uns das wir uns jeder etwas aus dem Angebot aussuchen sollten. Mittlerweile wurde das ganze Cafe auf den Bahnhofsvorsteher aufmerksam, der die beiden Ausländer einlud. Wir suchten uns zwei Eis aus, doch als er bezahlte, schien er immer noch nicht genug Dank gezeigt zu haben. Er deutete auf das Regal mit den Souvenirs und meinte, dass wir auch von dort noch etwas nehmen sollten.Mir war das unangenehm, wollte ich dem Mann doch eine Freude machen und nicht von ihm dem ganzen Laden leerkaufen lassen. Doch er freute sich sichtlich über den kleinen Anhänger den wir noch nahmen und konnte dann wieder zufrieden seiner Arbeit nachgehen.
Wir schossen noch viele viele Fotos, aßen noch ein Hot Cat (mit Fischwürstchen) und tranken noch eine Kleinigkeit, bis wir wieder mit dem hübschen Zug nach Wakayama zurückfuhren. Mit kompletten Gepäck ging es nun nach Osaka ins Hep Five- einen riesengroßen Teil eines noch viel größeren Shopping Centers. Im 7. Stock enterten wir das Gudetama Café. Hier war alles, von der Tapete, über die Einrichtung, bis hin zur Arbeitskleidung der Angestellten auf das Comic-Ei abgestimmt. In Endlosschleife liefen Kurzfilme auf einem Fernseher ab. Das absolute Paradies für mich.
Wir versuchten, so viel wie möglich von der Karte zu essen, mussten dann aber mit vollem Magen kapitulieren. Außerdem war jetzt noch der Großteil der Strecke vor uns…Von Osaka fuhren wir nach Shin-Osaka. Von dort aus nach Shin-Yokohama, wo wir uns durch Menschenmassen förmlich kämpfen mussten. Der Andrang in den Zügen war wieder einmal so groß, dass die Aufseher von außen die Leute in die Züge drückten, damit die Türen schließen konnten. So fuhren wir nach Yokohama und dann zur Station in der Nähe unseres Hotels, wo wir immer noch pappsatt waren.
