Brutal, brutaler, Urlaub… heute schmiss uns der Wecker schon halb fünf aus dem Bett. Hätten wir uns nicht an dem Gedanken an Strand, Meer und Sonne festgehalten, hätte uns um die zwei wahrscheinlich nichts aus dem Bett bekommen. Draußen stürmte es noch immer und wir kämpften uns mit all unserem Gepäck Richtung Flughafen.
Um die Zeit fahren nur die ganz armen Schweine Zug – Obdachlose, die eine Runde ungestört schlafen wollen, Leute, die zur Frühschicht gehen oder partywütiges Jungvolk, welches gestern Abend die letzte Bahn verpasst hat und nun schlafend auf den Sitzen hängt.
Inlandsflüge laufen dagegen total entspannt ab, man druckt sich seine Tickets selbst, geht durchs Sicherheits-Gate, weicht dem gleichen Fernsehteam aus, welches uns schon am ersten Flughafen interviewn wollte und sucht sich mit Kaffee und Qoo einen Platz im Wartebereich um hier müde bis zum Abflug herumzulungern. Ich kann mich auch nicht erinnern, morgens um sieben schon mal begonnen zu haben, einen Blogeintrag zu verfassen.
Mit einer kleinen Maschine zu fliegen ( also 180 Leute in etwa), war absolut ungewohnt. Alles rüttelte und schüttelte und ließ die jungen Japaner vor uns, die mit ihrer Managerin auf dem Weg zu einem Fan- Meeting waren, immer wieder laut aufschreien und lachen. Aber alle Turbulenzen waren vergessen, als wir von oben das türkise Meer und den weißen Strand sahen. Wir konnten es kaum erwarten, aus dem Flieger zu springen und endlich was zu unternehmen!
Die erste Unternehmung führte uns jedoch zunächst zu Times Car, einer Autovermietung, bei der wir schon vor Monaten ein Auto mit Bombenkonditionen reserviert hatten. Der Ablauf ging unwahrscheinlich schnell und so konnten wir gegen zwölf in Richtung Kabira Bay starten. Unser Weg führte uns über Straßen, rechts und links von Urwald umgeben und ab und an von Feldern, teilweise sogar mit Kühen (!) bewohnt.
Wir konnten nur staunen als wir eine halbe Stunde später die malerische Bucht erreichten : viele kleine Boote ankerten am hellen Strand und ließen hinter sich blaues Wasser vor langgezogenen Bergketten erkennnen. Wir zögerte nicht lang und kauften uns ein Ticket für die beworbenen Glasboden -Boote. Wie der Name bereits erahnen lässt, kann man durch den Boden hindurch die Korallenriffe und kleinen Fische erkennen.
Anschließend stärkten wir uns mit dem für die Region bekanntem Rindfleisch, ehe wir, mit kurzem Zwischenstopp in einem Perlengeschäft, indem ich mir nicht ansatzweise etwas hätte leisten können, weiter zum Yonehara Strand fuhren. Unsere erste Amtshandlung war das Leihen zweier Taucherbrillen mit Schnorchel und dann stachelten wir den ausschließlich aus abgestorbenen Korallen bestehend Strand entlang, bis wir in eine kleine, von Mangroven geschützte Öffnung im Wald einzogen. Es war nicht nur der einzige Ort mit ansatzweise Schatten, sondern auch Zuhause vieler kleiner Lebewesen: auf dem Boden krabbelte lauter Einsiedler, Geckos sprangen aus den Wurzeln hervor und ein Schmetterling mit Flügeln, so groß wie meine Handfläche, kreiste neugierig um unser improvisiertes Lager.
Wir krallten uns also unser eben gemietetes Equipment und machten uns auf in die Fluten. Und was uns dort erwartete, war nicht in Worte zu fassen: wir schwammen von Riff zu Riff, begleitet von unzähligen Fischen, aller Größen und Farben. Alle waren so neugierig, dass sie nur eine Handbreit von uns entfernt paddelten. Das war so spannend, dass ich meinen Sonnencremefanatismus unterdrückte und den gewaltigen Sonnenbrand, den wir nun haben, wohlwollend in Kauf nahm.
Nachdem wir unsere Ausrüstung abgeben mussten, saßen wir noch weit über einer Stunde im seichten, warmen Meereswasser und beobachten die anderen Besucher beim Baden und Schnorcheln. Dann hieß es, unser Auto abgeben, mit dem kostenlosen Shuttle der Autovermietung zurück zum Flughafen zu fahren und den Bus Richtung Hafen zu nehmen, wo unsere Unterkunft für die nächsten drei Nächte bereit stehen sollte.
Wir bezogen unser traditionell japanisch eingerichtetes Zimmer und machten uns noch einmal in die Spur, um etwas zu essen. In unser Auge fiel ein sehr alternativ eingerichtetes kleines Lokal, das Poke Bowl, in dem man sich ähnlich wie bei Subway seine Schüssel mit Reis, Fisch, Sauce und Beilagen zusammenstellen konnte. Und der Foodporn wurde erschaffen…
