Heute war der erste Tag, an dem wir mal ausschlafen konnten. Dann fuhren wir zum Nakano Broadway, dem riesigen Figuren-Kaufhaus. Nach dem Mittagessen ging es gleich zum Jingu-Stadium, denn die Yakult Swallows traten gegen die Hanshin Tigers aus Osaka an.
Massen strömten in Alltagskleidung oder auch im Anzug auf den Eingang zu und warfen sich kurzerhand ein Trikot über, sodass alle in blauer Tracht ins Stadion traten. Dieses füllte sich sowohl auf Swallows also auch auf Tiger Seite bis zum Spielbeginn 18.00 auf. Und dann ging das Laute treiben los: immer, wenn die eigene Mannschaft am Zuge war, spielte die Kapelle, die Masse tanzte, sang lauthals und das teilweise eine halbe Stunde lang, wenn sich das Inning zog. Das Spiel ging fast vier Stunden, war allerdings mal durchweg spannend und wurde mit einem Feuerwerk und 5 (!) Homeruns versüßt. Angenehm ist vorallem der Sicherheitsaspekt: Taschenkontrollen werden nur sporadisch gemacht und wenn sich jemand etwas zu trinken holen wollte, so ließ er seine ganzen Wertsachen auf seinem Platz liegen und musste sich keine Gedanken machen, dass irgendwas davon Beine bekommt. Die Stimmung war ausgelassen und bei einem Homerun klatschten alle mit Vorder-, Neben- und Hintermann ab und dann folgte der typische Schirmtanz. Trotz verlorenen Spieles gab es keine einzige bedrückte Miene, was daran liegen kann, dass so gut wie jeden Tag gespielt wird und morgen dann sicherlich ein Sieg folgt. Nach dem Spiel zieht dann jeder sein Trikot wieder aus, nimmt seinen Müll mit und geht wieder in Zivil auf die Straße, auf der mehrere Polizisten alle drei Spuren schließen, um den Strom in Richtung Bahnhof zu geleiten. Gegen um elf findet dann jeder langsam wieder heim.
