Anders als die sonstigen Tage unseres Urlaubs, war dieser heute nicht durchgeplant, sondern wir ließen uns von Cache zu Cache durch die Stadt treiben. Mit den Fahrrädern bewaffnet kamen wir in Höchstgeschwindigkeit von A nach B (wenn auch manchmal über C) und entdeckten Plätze, die uns sonst nie in den Sinn gekommen wären. Wir streiften durch Tempel, Parks und Bahnhöfe, fanden das Gründungsgebäude von Nintendo, überquerten sowohl riesige Straßen als auch kleine verträumte Gassen und nahmen eine Nase vom Straßenleben in Japan. Wir durchquerten große Teile von Kyoto und lernten die Stadt von ihrer privaten, untouristischen Seite kennen. Und von ihrer seltsamen! Beim Mittagseinkauf im Conbini durften wir ein Los ziehen und erhielten als Gewinn eine Instant-Nudelsuppe (extra groß!). Das Land ist doch immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut!
Nachdem wir abends noch das bunte Vorwochenends-Treiben in dem Vergnügungsviertel Gion erlebten (freitags sind die meisten Japaner sehr redselig und aufgeschlossen, was mit dem Feierabendbier zu begründen ist), sodass die Stimmung äußerst ausgelassen ist. Über 30 km später, zu Hause angekommen, haben wir nur noch Entspannung im Sinn. Oder wie es so schön heißt: Erholung ist, wenn der Schmerz nachlässt!
