Nach unserem Barbesuch gestern sind wir heute erstaunlicherweise doch früh aus dem Bett gekommen, haben uns entschieden noch einen Tag länger in Kyoto zu nächtigen und deshalb „nur“ einen Tagesausflug nach Tottori zu unternehmen. Zur größten Hitze kamen wir dann in Tottori an und fuhren direkt weiter mit dem Bus bis zu unserem ersten Ziel dem Sandmuseum. Aktuell beschäftigt sich das Sandmuseum mit dem Thema „Großbritannien“. Somit bewunderten wir Sandskulpturen geschichtlicher Ereignisse, berühmter Persönlichkeiten, Bauwerke und typisch englischer Dinge wie den Telefonzellen, Taxen und Doppeldeckerbussen. Mehr dazu in der Galerie. Als nächstes steuerten wir die größte japanische Sanddüne an. Erst nachdem wir genügend Mut und Kraft im Schatten eines spärlichen Baumes mit Blick auf die Kamele getankt hatten beschlossen wir es den Japanern gleich zu tun und die große Düne direkt am Meer zu erklimmen. Die Strapazen wurden jedoch mit einer unglaublichen Aussicht auf das Meer und die umliegende Sandwüste belohnt. Vor allem der Anblick von einigen japanischen Kinder auf allen Vieren, welche versuchten an der steilsten Stelle die Düne zu besteigen erheiterte uns. Unser improvisierter Surf-Abstieg war dafür aber wieder um so lustiger. Leider ließ unser Zeitfenster nicht mehr zu und wir schafften gerade noch rechtzeitig den letzten Zug, da wir aus Versehen eine Stunde mit dem Sehenswürdigkeiten-Bus durch die ganze Stadt gefahren sind. Zurück in Kyoto waren die Temperaturen wieder angenehm. Unsere Ausbeute beim nächtlichen Einkauf bestand heute sogar mal aus Früchten (sonst zu teuer) und leckeren Säften. Morgen geht es weiter nach Hiroshima. 😉
