Nach Sapporo fanden wir erstaunlich gut. Wir fuhren erst von Sendai nach Hachinohe, von da aus nach Hakodate und anschließend nach Sapporo. Auch mit der U-Bahn kamen wir gut zu Rande und das Hostel liegt keine 3 Minuten entfernt von einer Station. Als wir das erste Mal auf dem Weg zum Hostel waren, wurden wir (kurz vorm Ziel) von hinten, von einem älteren Pärchen gerufen und meinten, uns schon wieder verlaufen zu haben. Die beiden wollten uns aber einfach nur begleiten, mit der Begründung, ihnen wäre schon so oft geholfen wurden, jetzt wöllten sie gern uns helfen.
Das Hostel, welches schon eher die Bezeichnung Hotel verdient (sowohl von der Größe als auch vom Preis) ist vor allem Anlaufstelle für einheimische Schulklassen, welche gut und gern auch noch abends um 11 mit den Lehrern in der Lobby Unterricht halten. Wir haben jeweils getrennte Zimmer, da hier Frauen und Männer getrennt schlafen. Da ich gestern noch allein in meinem 4-Bett Zimmer war, konnte René unauffällig bei mir mit schlafen. Heute habe ich aber eine Zimmernachbarin dazubekommen – also schlafen wir in getrennten Zimmern und haben nur ein Handy zum Wecken…das Problem gilt es auch noch zu lösen… Der Baderaum ist traditionell japanisch, im Baderaum gibt es ein großes Becken mit heißem Wasser, worin locker 15 Mann Platz haben.
Geplant für heute war ursprünglich eine Fahrt nach Wakkanei, dem nördlichsten Punkt Japans. Da die gesamte Reise jedoch 10 Stunden dauert und unser Hostel nach 12.00 niemand mehr reinlässt, hielten wir den Aufwand zu übertrieben. Deshalb besichtigten wir Sapporo. Wir spazierten durch die Verwaltung der Präfektur, welcher 2 große, parkähnlich angelegte Seerosenteiche angehören. Anschließend liefen wir durch den Odori-Park: ein länglicher Park mit vielen kleinen Marktständen und Springbrunnen. Während wir uns ausruhten, konnten wir noch einem Chorauftritt japanischer Rentneromas beiwohnen, bevor wir wieder die Reise ins Hostel antraten. Heute Abend haben wir gemeinsam mit einem Japaner WM geschaut und werden langsam schlafen gehen, um morgen 7:30 den Zug nach Akita zu erwischen.
