Heute schliefen wir lange aus und waren noch eine ganze Weile mit dem Zug unterwegs. Deshalb begannen wir erst am Nachmittag den Aufstieg auf den Berg Rokko. Als erstes erwartete uns der 43 Meter hohe Nunobiki Wasserfall, der sich seinen Weg aus dem Gestein nach unten suchte. Von da an ging es nur noch weiter bergauf – Stufe für Stufe für Stufe.Völlig entkräfigt, schnaufend und durchgeschwitzt kamen wir am ersten Aussichtspunkt an, bei dem eine Schule angegliedert ist. Noch während wir uns Gedanken machten, wie die Schüler wohl jeden Tag hier hochsteigen mussten, übertrafen diese jegliche unserer Vorstellungen. Eine Gruppe von Jugendlichen machte gerade in dem Augenblick Ausdauerlauf und rannte den Bergweg, den wir eben kamen, in einem hohen Tempo abwärts. Warum auch nicht, waren ja nur über 30°C. Doch auch wir mussten nochmal alle Kräfte sammeln und den Weg bis zur Seilbahn in Angriff nehmen. Mehrere Kilometer stiegen wir bei etwa 10 Grad Steigung nach oben und waren dann erst einmal fertig. Unseren Plan, mit der Seilbahn bis ganz hoch auf den Berg zu fahren, warfen wir schnell über den Haufen, als in sekundenschnelle schwarze Wolken den Berg wie eine Decke umschlossen. Wir fuhren also mit der Seilbahn wieder zurück nach unten, in Richtung Kobe Station und bereuten diese Entscheidung bei einem Blick zurück auf den Berg auch nicht. Zumal der gesamte Weg unbeleuchtet war und ich nur ungern im Dunkeln den Berg zu Fuß hätte absteigen wollen. Der Abend war noch jung und wahrscheinlich frischer als wir, doch wir entschieden uns, im Haborland, dem Vergnügungsviertel im Hafen zu essen. In einem etwas gehobeneren Restaurant aßen wir ein beachtliches Menü mit Koberind, Salaten, gebratenem Tofu mit Bonitoflocken, Edamame (Sojabohnen) und Eis und liefen uns ein paar Gramm in der nahe gelegenen Mall wieder ab. Für den Rückweg entschieden wir uns zu Fuß zu gehen und fanden ohne Navi und nur anhand der Erinnerung aus dem letzten Jahr bis zu unserem Hotel zurück, wobei wir durch den wunderschönen Park im Inneren der Stadt liefen.
